  Yeah, well he is a New Testament scholar, so one should expect his books be connected to it and be somewhat similar in tone/time/subject :)

  The author is very much like a New Testament character: Judas. The modern-day Judas has sold out our Savior and is trying to assassinate His Good character. After all - lies and murder come from the devil…

  That’s a good quote from Sagan but it opens up a debate about what Truth is, and whose Truth are we talking about? The author is a substantial scholar, however, we always know going into these things that everyone has their agenda. This bias can have a heavily distorting effect on the Truth, which the author is genuinely trying to present.
  Are values and facts amenable to the same methodical analysis, or do they occupy disparate spheres?

  If Freud was correct, this book says more about Bart Ehrman than the historical Jesus. At this point the Gospels of the New Testament are the earliest records penned by his followers.

  The Gospels weren’t penned by his followers! Not only were the individual gospels written many years after THEIR deaths, they weren’t even written by a single person but were in-fact written by multiple people!
