Paulo Freire, the post-modernist marxist who started it all by infecting the entire American and European educational systems, and ultimately even the sitting Pope with his harebrained venom.

Wow, Thank you so much. Paulo Freire is one of the most important thinkers of Latin America, his ideas provide a much needed discussion of the nature of the education as a system that reproduces oppression and inequalities. This book is a must for anyone interested in education and the social sciences

Paulo Freire ruined education in Brazil. If you have any doubts about it, just look at pisa test results for Brazilian students, they are almost last in everything.

Freire’s discourse created a framework for thinking about domination and oppression in the schools, the education system is not a factory and human being are not products to be tested for quality
“You must be convinced that the fundamental effort of education is to help with the liberation of people, never their domestication. You must be convinced that when people reflect on their domination they begin a first step in changing their relationship to the world” (Freire 1971)

Paulo Freire never had the chance to apply his work in Brazil as he went to exile on our dictatorship and died in 1997 - Those who say he did something in Brazil are misinformed, ignorant, and full of hate and bad intentions.
