Quite an amazing book.
At the author’s urging, I attempted to use an ancient memory technique (a song path/loci) to memorise some stuff. The stellaris ethics options are now floating around locations of my house; I memorised the major arcana of the tarot in a matter of minutes, and then… drumroll please… memorised a 148-item bird identification book in the space of about a week, by placing the birds into a large memory path; memorization of this sort was formerly impossible for me, so much so I stopped even trying a long time ago, this has been a revolution in my conception of what a mere mortal can actually hold in her head without corruption or loss. Please do listen, and try the techniques for yourself
